CATTLE AND GOATS

Crown3:

Cattle & Goat Clients

Crown 3 Equine is an equine-predominant practice.  However, due to the nature of the area, Dr. Bridget does select work for some cattle and goat producers locally.  Animals to be examined must be caught in a small pen, and a chute or head catch is mandatory for any treatment on cattle.  Herd health consultations are required before a Veterinary Feed Directive or script for medications can be granted.

Show herd services include Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), lameness diagnosis and treatment, acupuncture, therapeutic laser services, wound care, and respiratory illness management. Livestock reproduction management is limited to pregnancy diagnosis and verification. For cattle artificial insemination (AI) services, we recommend Moss Lake Livestock Reproduction.

Livestock Emergency coverage is extremely limited to the following general services: Dystocias, pulling calves/kids, C-sections, and humane euthanasia. This is due to the lack of equipment and medications usually necessary to handle common medical emergencies.

A livestock emergency call is not sufficient to establish a Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) to allow for Veterinary Feed Directives or dispensing herd medications.
