My time at Crown 3 Equine laid the foundation for who I am as a veterinarian today. Dr. Bridget is a knowledgeable veterinarian in equine reproduction and general equine practice. The entire team was great at recognizing my skill set and helping me build on that. If you put the effort in and apply yourself, they will match it with encouragement, education and opportunities for hands on learning. I highly recommend learning under Dr. Bridget and her team. I am proud to have spent time with Crown 3 Equine.

I had the amazing opportunity to complete my externship here at Crown 3 Equine Veterinary services. I completed an 8-week externship here at Crown 3 as part of my college’s requirements to complete the Veterinary Nursing program. I began my externship at the end of May, which was on the tail end of breeding season, but I still had awesome opportunities to experience in the equine reproductive field including uterine cultures, utilizing ultrasonography on mares, uterine lavages, embryonic flushes, how to collect and prepare semen for shipments, and how to artificially inseminate mares. Along with the reproduction background, I also received extensive experience on wound debridement and management, bandaging, lameness examinations, processing lab work such as parasite exams, CBC’s, etc. Dr. B utilizes her technicians well and entrusts them with a lot of responsibility. I was also given the opportunity to monitor a patient diagnosed with Salmonella, during the patient’s stay I was able to monitor vitals, administer IV medications, and be completely hands-on. I also had the opportunity to learn and treat a melting eye ulceration using a SPL line and so much more! The staff at Crown 3 made me feel welcome and part of their family during my time with them. On a scale of 1-10, I would give this clinic a 10 on when it comes to learning environment. Externing here has renewed my passion for veterinary medicine.
